Ragù della Nonna

Ingredients:

  • 10.5 oz (300 g) minced beef

  • 1 ½ cups (300 g) tomato puree

  • ½ cup (50 g) carrots, finely chopped

  • ½ cup (50 g) celery, finely chopped

  • 1 cup (50 g) yellow onions, finely chopped

  • Fine salt and black pepper to taste

  • ½ cup (100 g) red wine

  • 1 cup (150 g) pancetta bacon, diced

  • Vegetable broth to taste

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Instructions:

  1. In a pot, heat olive oil and sauté onions, carrots, and celery until softened.

  2. Add minced beef and pancetta, cook until browned.

  3. Pour in red wine, allowing it to reduce by half.

  4. Stir in tomato puree, season with salt and pepper.

  5. Add vegetable broth as needed for desired consistency.

  6. Simmer on low heat for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  7. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

  8. Serve over your favorite pasta.
